Privacy Policy

AKAMI is run by Kvasir Media LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use akami.app and oracle.akami.app, why, and the choices you have. In short: we collect only what we need to calculate your charts and run the service, we don’t sell your information, and we don’t show ads.

What we collect

Birth details you enter

The date, time and place of birth you type in are sent to our servers to calculate your chart and current transits. We don’t save them to a database or link them to you unless you’re signed in and choose to save them, a feature we haven’t launched yet. To make repeat requests faster, our hosting provider may keep a cached copy of a calculated chart, without anything that identifies you. Birth details do appear in the page address so that charts can be shared, which means they’re kept in your browser history and visible to anyone you send the link to.

Place searches

When you search for a birthplace, the text you type is sent to our servers to find matching places.

Approximate location

Our hosting provider estimates your city from your IP address. We use it only to label the “sky right now” section; it doesn’t change any calculation, and we don’t store it. We never ask for your device’s precise location.

Account details

If you create an account, we store your email address. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we also receive the name and profile picture they share (with Apple you can choose to hide your email). We don’t store passwords: you sign in with Google, Apple or a one-time code we email you. We also keep anything you add to your profile.

Technical information

Like most websites, our servers and hosting providers automatically record basic request information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. It’s used to keep the service running and secure.

Cookies and local storage

We set one cookie, akami-theme, and a matching entry in your browser’s local storage. Both only remember whether you chose the light or dark theme, so the choice carries across akami.app and oracle.akami.app. If you sign in, your browser also stores a session token so you stay signed in. We don’t use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

How we use your information

  • To calculate and show your natal chart, transits and other features you ask for.
  • To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
  • To operate, maintain and protect the service, and to fix problems.
  • To respond when you contact us.

We don’t sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of providers to run AKAMI. They process information only on our behalf:

  • Vercel hosts our websites and provides the approximate location described above.
  • Supabase stores accounts and handles sign-in, including sending sign-in codes by email.
  • Google and Apple, only if you choose to sign in with them, confirm your identity to us.
  • Google Fonts delivers some typefaces on oracle.akami.app, so Google receives your IP address when those pages load.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply. These providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep account information until you delete your account or ask us to. Birth details entered without an account aren’t stored by us. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting providers and then deleted.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop processing it, by emailing dev@akami.app. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under data protection law, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. You can clear the theme cookie and local storage at any time in your browser settings.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and reputable providers, and we limit who can access data. No service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect your information and will tell you about a breach that affects you where the law requires it.

Children

AKAMI isn’t intended for anyone under 14, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when our practices change, for example before we launch paid plans or AI readings, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll let signed-in users know.
